Stillwater Mill Fire – 1872
This fire occurred on June 23, 1872. The mill was constructed in 1866-67 by Edward W. Brown, and became known as the “Stillwater Woolen Mill Co.” charted in 1867.

The mill that replaced this one was also destroyed by fire on May 17, 1984.
The land sat vacant until 2018-19 when a housing development was built on the site.
